About Red Hat on the River
Red Hat on the River is housed in a stunningly renovated 100 year old industrial space with
180 degree views of the Hudson River in Irvington, NY. It is designed to evoke a 1930's Parisian
bistro: the original brick walls are adorned with WPA-era paintings and antiques, comfortable
banquettes and a gorgeous pewter bar. The riverside patio seats 75 in fair weather, and the
bi-level interior seats 120. Perhaps the most awe-inspiring view comes from the open air rooftop
cocktail lounge with its spa-like lounge chairs, low tables and summer flowers.
The menu is bistro-inspired with classics like Moules Frites, Duck Confit and Fluke Meuniere to
please the Francophile, but it is decidedly modern in its approach to using fresh, seasonal,
Hudson Valley ingredients to inspire new menu creations every few months. Red Hat's turn on
American classics like Crispy Goat Cheese Beignet, Peekytoe Crabcakes, and Spicy Yellowfin Tuna
Tartare are always a notch above what you'll find elsewhere. Fresh meats and fish are brought in
daily, and all desserts are made in-house.
This is a recipe for a great time, whether it's a special occasion, a weekly ritual, a wedding or
a corporate event.
